EDC/KGF – Authorized Use of District Equipment and Materials

The Board authorizes free public use of ESD furniture and equipment by service organizations, community sponsored youth organizations, nonprofit and service clubs, and other tax-support governmental agencies when all the following criteria are met:

1. The purpose is consistent and compatible with educational goals and activities.
2. The purpose is non-commercial and does not intend to earn profit or have personal benefit. Raising funds for youth or community benefits are excluded from this criteria.
3. The purpose avoids conflicts or competition with private commercial businesses.
4. The purpose avoids conflict with district use and availability.
5. The user agrees to abide by all rules and procedures approved by the Board.
6. The purpose is not for the sole benefit of one private citizen for exclusive use.
7. The purpose does not assist, promote, or support any religion, faith, or church.

The Board declares that ESD furniture and equipment shall not be used by staff for personal reasons at any time unless authorized by the Board. Unauthorized use of ESD furniture and equipment for personal reasons or pecuniary gain will be grounds for disciplinary action including suspension.

The Board authorizes the superintendent to generate appropriate rules and procedures to assure fair and consistent application of this policy.
